Walk Auditors - Volunteers are needed to ‘groundtruth’ walking routes in western Chula Vista. We are looking for help to ensure that 1-2 mile walking routes identified by WalkSanDiego staff have the appropriate features for "walkability." Volunteers will walk the route(s) and provide feedback on safety, appropriateness on up to 8 walking routes. Time: 1-2 hour slots, total of 8-10 hours. Volunteers will receive a training on safe walking conditions prior to going out.
Photo Archivists - Volunteers are needed to organize a catalog of digital photos. Experience with Picasa software is desirable, but not required. Time: 1-2 hours slots, total hours variable. All work will be completed at WalkSanDiego's office in the East Village.
Program Assistants - Volunteers needed to assist in the facilitation and reporting of workshops around San Diego County. Tasks include taking notes that reflect workshop and training participants, taking photographs during walk audits performed within the workshops to document community input and existing conditions of the streets, and typing reports (using Microsoft Word) to document input provided by residents. Volunteers will receive a brief training on how to help with the workshops prior to going out to the workshops.
Workshop Time: 3 – 3.5 hours, including travel, set up time and the actual workshop Reporting Time: 2 – 3 hours, depending on the amount of input provided by workshop participants
