Walk San Diego

La Mesa

  • La Mesa has a Neighborhood Traffic Management Program in place to gather input from residents about traffic concerns.
  • To get started, residents are asked to talk to neighbors and submit a petition describing the concern and its location. The petition must typically be signed by a minimum of ten residents of different households in the affected area.
  • Petitions go to a staff person in the Engineering Division of Public Works Department who reviews the information, visits the site, and recommends a potential solution. This proposal will be submitted to the City’s Traffic Advisory Committee, made up of City staff and residents, for review and determination of next steps.
  • La Mesa encourages substantial neighborhood participation in the process.
  • You can learn more about traffic calming on the City's website.
