Walk San Diego

National City

  • National City has a Traffic Safety Committee (TSC) that meets monthly to review traffic concerns and make recommendations to the City Council. The Committee is made up of five members appointed by the City Council, including the City's traffic engineer.
  • To get started, residents should fill out a Public Service Request Form online. Someone from the City's traffic engineering staff should contact you in ten days. The City will acknowledge receipt of your request as soon as possible and then send an engineer out to the site to investigate conditions.
  • Based on their site visit, City staff will determine if there is a need to go to the TSC. If the TSC approves traffic installations, City staff will forward the request to the City Council for approval. If a request does not require TSC action, other improvements may be considered.
  • The Traffic Safety Committee meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 2:00 PM at City Hall, 1243 National City Boulevard, in the 2nd floor main conference room. Meetings are open to the public.
