Oceanside

Oceanside has a Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program to allow City staff and residents to work together and find traffic calming solutions unique to each neighborhood. The 2-phase program aims to improve street safety, promote community character, and enhance the quality of life in Oceanside.
To get started, residents should contact City staff to discuss the particular concern. The City will work with you to determine the best course of action. If a simple solution is needed, City staff may come out and talk with you and other residents about traffic safety, post signage, or monitor speeds at the problem area. If a more complex solution is needed, the City will ask you and neighbors to submit a petition detailing the concern. This petition is on page 68 of the City’s Traffic Calming guide.
If the project is a candidate for further traffic calming, a Resident Task Force will be formed and a neighborhood meeting will be held. The Task Force is comprised of City staff and concerned volunteer residents of the particular neighborhood to establish the needs of the issue.
