Walk San Diego

Poway

  • Poway has a Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program in place to educate residents about ways they can slow traffic in their neighborhoods.
  • To get started, residents should first talk with other neighbors to sign a petition which identifies and explains the traffic concerns. This can be sent to the City Traffic Engineer, Development Services Department, City of Poway, P.O. Box 789, Poway, CA 92074. These residents will be assigned as a Traffic Committee and be involved through all steps of the process outlined in the Program.
  • City staff will collect traffic data and present a report to the City’s Traffic Safety Committee (TSC) which is made up of residents and City staff and meets on the third Wednesday of every other month at 2:00 p.m., Poway City Hall, 13325 Civic Center Drive. The meeting is open to the public.
  • If deemed to be a significant project, TSC will make a recommendation to the City Council for approval. If the process gets this far along, make sure you and other neighbors attend the City Council meeting to support your view.
