  • In San Marcos, requests for traffic management should be submitted in writing by using a “Traffic Study Request” form. These forms are available at the Engineering Counter or by phone request to the Engineering Division. Once you’ve filled out the form, it should be mailed to San Marcos City Hall (Attn: Traffic Engineering), 1 Civic Center Drive, San Marcos, CA 92069 or e-mail to mrafael@san-marcos.net. 
  • Once the request is received, City staff will notify the resident and provide an estimate of time required to evaluate the concern. This may take a few weeks in order to collect data. Requests are evaluated on a first-come, first-serve basis. 
  • Requests may also be brought up to the Traffic Safety Commission for review. The Commission is an advisory group of citizens appointed by the City Council. They meet the first Wednesday of each month at 6:00 PM to discuss traffic issues raised by residents or staff. The Commission discusses the best solutions to the issue at hand.
