Walk San Diego

Vista

  • Vista has a Traffic Calming Program to respond to residents’ traffic safety concerns and reduce speeds of motorists driving through residential neighborhoods. The program targets residential streets with speeds less than 25 miles per hour.
  • In this program, residents are asked to start a Neighborhood Traffic Watch Program, supported by the City and the Sherriff’s Department. The program creates collaboration between the residents and the City staff and is designed to increase driver safety awareness through education and enforcement.
  • To get started, organize a small, informal preliminary meeting among neighbors to discuss the traffic concern and desired change. Afterwards, request a meeting with City staff (760-726-1340, x.1383 or hhasenin@cityofvista.com) who will come to the neighborhood and give a presentation on traffic calming, walk through the Traffic Watch Program process, and help identify a neighborhood coordinator and road captains who will be involved through all steps of the process outlined in the Program.
